On Wednesday, September 1, 2004, the Department of Corrections (DOC) submitted its 2005-2007 Biennial Operating Budget Request to the Governor’s Office of Financial Management (OFM) for consideration. This is the Department’s proposed two year spending plan that begins on July 1, 2005 and ends on June 30, 2006. The total budget request is $150 million, or twelve percent, over current funding levels and staffing would increase by almost 400 FTEs. These changes bring the Department’s total biennial budget to more than $1.4 billion and almost 8,500 FTEs.
