Capital Projects Request for Qualifications

NOTICE TO ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING (A/E) FIRMS

The DGA/DOC Team Program invites interested A/E firms to submit qualifications for architectural and engineering design services for the project scopes of work listed.

Where projects involve telecommunications and low-voltage systems, firms shall select and hire telecommunications consultants from a pre-qualified Department of Corrections (DOC) list to complete design packages and provide review services as part of the design team.

Voluntary MWBE goals of 10% MBE and 6% WBE have been established for these projects. Achievement of the goals is encouraged. However, no minimum level of MWBE participation shall be required as a condition of contract award. The A/E’s will not be penalized if they do not include MWBE participation. The A/E firms may contact Office of Minority and Womens Business Enterprise to obtain information on certified firms for potential subconsultants.

A project information meeting will be held at the Labor & Industries building, 7273 Linderson Way, Tumwater, Washington, Main Auditorium on February 27, 2009, beginning at 8:00 a.m. Project Managers will be present to give an overview of the upcoming projects and to answer questions. The established Minority and Women’s Business Enterprise (MWBE) goals are 10 percent Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and 6 percent Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) for these projects. We encourage achievement of the goals. The A/E firms can contact the Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprise to obtain information on certified firms for potential sub-consultants.
