Back to School Night: Aug 16 Saturday 12:45-4:00pm Visitation Room

Each child will be able to pick out a book to take home.  The school age children will receive a bag of school supplies.  This activity is a fun way to visit with your family and connect during an educational activity.  It will provide the families with age-appropriate and educational reading materials.  There will also be math activities which will allow the offender to help the child with this important activity.  Even school is fun when you do it with your child.

Homework Time : Sept 27  Sat. 12:45-4:00 Visitation Room

This activity will be headed by a teacher who will give parents suggestions for helping their children with their homework.  This will also include handouts to be done together.  This relaxed activity will encourage parents to help their children with homework. The children will learn positive attitudes toward school with the father as the role model.  This will be another time to bond with your family and encourage positive attitudes toward school.

Pumpkin Decorating Event: October 25th  Saturday 12:45-4:00 Visitation Room

This Family friendly event is a major event.  There are pumpkins to decorate, bingo, a meal, treats, family pictures with a backdrop and fun for all.  Even families without children can enjoy this activity.  Each family has a chance to relax a little more than usual because of the festive atmosphere.  The families have time to talk, laugh and enjoy their families.  Your family will have a good time.

Relationship Works-Family Reunification Seminar

These seminars are designed for offenders and their supportive partner.  They will inform the offenders and their partner of some of the pitfalls that many other families have had to deal with.  Positive relationship skills such as, trust, listening, and how to dialogue will be constructively presented.   Many common problems that families encounter with the return of the father, son, or grandfather will be discussed, along with behaviors that may occur upon release from prison. Information on recourses in the community, for the family, will be discussed and handouts will be sent home with your partner.

Video Greeting Cards: Dates to be announced

A video is taken of the offender.  We call this a video card and it will be sent to the offenders family members.  Many Children and loved-ones who would otherwise not be able to see their brother, father, son, husband are able to make a face to face connection.  This program will encourage positive relationships between you and your family.

 Read to Me Daddy

Many Children who would otherwise not be able to see their father are able to make a face to face connection while sharing a literacy-based activity.  Books chosen for the program are focused on skill learning (colors, shapes, numbers, and manners) and have positive themes and/ or morals.  This program will encourage positive father/child relationships which can continue upon release from CRCC.
