Visiting an Offender
Google driving directions are not completely accurate.
Stafford Creek Corrections Center is planning a March Madness Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) book fair on Friday, March 20th, from 6-8 in the evening during the Family Friendly Night. We have sent out letters to the families about this Book Fair.
Children of qualifying offenders will be able to come to this event if they are on the visiting list and pick out 3 free books to take back home with them. If they cannot make it, and they still qualify, 3 books will be mailed out to them. There will be entertainment and refreshments as well.
Incarcerated fathers can provide the families more information after the 19th of February when they will be attending a book journey.

Sending a Quarterly Package?
Updates have been made to 450.120 Packages for Offenders and is the policy that outlines quarterly gift packages. Please note there have been significant changes to the quarterly gift package guidelines effective March 1, 2009.
Take the time to review the DOC Policy 440.000, Personal Property for Offenders before sending items to offenders. Personal property items purchased by family and friends are not authorized, except as allowed in a Quarterly Package. Quarterly Gift packages may include new shoes only.
Books are NOT considered property. Books are considered publications (mail) and are authorized as long as they arrive directly from any publishing company (like Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Borders, etc.) and meet the guidelines per DOC Policy 450.100, Mail for Offenders.
This facility has additional SCCC specific information.
Programs
Grays Harbor Community College provides basic education classes to the offenders. Offenders can also take vocational classes to receive certification for Building Maintenance Technology, Welding, and Information Technology. SCCC recently implemented the first residential Therapeutic Community (TC) for a medium custody facility.
Correctional Industries Programs
SCCC Correctional Industries Class 2 employs offenders in the Chair Shop, the Metal Shop, Laundry, and the Business Office.
Community Involvement
SCCC offenders participate in various activities that support the community. The Inside/Out organization puts together fundraisers for community charity groups such as the Children's Advocacy Center of Grays Harbor, Coastal Community Action Program, Habitat for Humanity, and the Grays Harbor Food Bank Distribution Center. “Bicycles from Heaven” works with the Grays Harbor Lions Club to donate like-new bikes to the community. Offenders receive old bikes and bike parts, refurbish them and donate them to the Lions Club for distribution to individuals in need, with over 1,000 bikes being distributed throughout Grays Harbor County to date. Offenders also participate in Outreach, crocheting hats and blankets and donating them to community agencies such as the United Gospel Mission, the Nursery at the local hospital, and the United Way Coat/Blanket Drive. Through Toy Time, offenders make toys to donate to the community for children during the holidays. These donations go to the Children's Advocacy Center and the Christmas for Kids in Grays Harbor program.
Facility History
In July 1998, construction started on SCCC at an estimated total cost of $194 million. The facility opened on April 3, 2000.
