Sometimes is is hard to comprehend what happens when a person becomes incarcerated. This information may help friends and family to understand what the offender does during the first part of their stay in prison.

When the offender arrives at their main facility, it is then time to learn where the basic services are to settle into the routine of their stay at the facility.
Preparing to release
Several things can affect the length of an offender sentence. The segregations and grievance policies should be reviewed early on in the stay. Then, the time comes around to nearing the end of the offender's sentence. This is when the offender may want to begin work on release plans.
