Books are NOT considered property. Books are considered publications (mail) and are authorized as long as they arrive directly from any publishing company and meet the guidelines per DOC Policy 450.100, Mail for Offenders.

Newly admitted inmates do not receive packages while assigned to the Washington Corrections Center Reception Center.

Package Guidelines

Inmates are allowed one incoming package per month. An inmate may purchase their own or one may be purchased by a family member or friend.

NOTE: It appears Washington Package’s website is not functioning and ACCESS Securepak’s website is down for maintenance. Access Securepak’s phone number is operational. 800–546–6283. Orders are accepted until 11 p.m. Central Standard Time Monday–Friday and until 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Closed Sundays.

DOC staff will monitor the situation for changes in status.
