Offender Management Network Information (OMNI) System

A New System - OMNI

The Offender Management Network Information (OMNI) system is a new, web-based, offender tracking system being developed by the Department of Corrections (DOC).  OMNI is expected to improve the Department’s ability to manage offenders as they progress through the correctional system by providing efficient, easy access to comprehensive information about an offender's confinement status, rehabilitation programming, treatment, sentencing, movement, discipline and community supervision.  The new system will be launched in 2008.

Goals for OMNI

OMNI will play an important role in helping DOC achieve its strategic vision to increase public safety. This vision includes holding offenders accountable through the administration of criminal sanctions and the use of effective re-entry strategies.  OMNI will also help improve DOC’s business practices by providing employees with a tool that can quickly respond to their business, administrative and offender tracking needs as well as provide timely and accurate data. The Department’s commitment to this vision will result in a higher level of public safety and accountability for the Department, staff and offenders.

OMNI is expected to serve approximately 8,000 criminal justice practitioners including DOC staff, law enforcement and court personnel.  The system is being designed to support a coordinated approach to public safety and will improve the ability for Washington State law enforcement and justice organizations to share information. OMNI will provide information to the Seattle Police Department, Washington State Patrol, Office of the Attorney General, Department of Social and Health Services, The Department of Licensing, Secretary of State, and the U.S. Department of Justice.
