PRESS RELEASE: New Superintendent Announced at Clallam Bay Corrections Center

Ron Haynes has been appointed as the new superintendent of Clallam Bay Corrections Center, effective April 13, 2015.
Ron started his career in 1986 as a correctional officer at the Washington State Penitentiary. In 1989 Ron moved to Clallam Bay Corrections Center where he worked as a correctional officer, correctional sergeant and temporary hearings lieutenant.
In 1994 Ron moved to Airway Heights Corrections Center as a correctional sergeant. He was promoted to lieutenant, temporary correctional captain, and later promoted to permanent captain. Ron also spent time as correctional captain at Monroe Correctional Complex's Washington State Reformatory Unit. Ron has been a member and team leader for Emergency Response Teams and Special Emergency Response Teams at Clallam Bay and Airway Heights. He has also served as an emergency response team academy instructor.
In 2012, Ron promoted to associate superintendent of programs at Airway Heights, his current position. Ron oversaw the implementation of an evidence-based offender change program pilot for Airway Heights and has been actively involved in the facility's sustainable practices, specifically their institution gardens.
Clallam Bay Corrections Center, located on the northwest tip of the Olympic Peninsula, houses about 850 offenders in medium-, close- and maximum-custody units. Clallam Bay and the Washington State Penitentiary are the two highest-security prisons in Washington state.
