LITTLEROCK - Father’s Day is a day known for family gatherings and at Cedar Creek Corrections Center (CCCC), families are brought in to celebrate the holiday. The facility hosted its annual Father’s Day fishing derby at their recreation yard prior to Father’s Day.

Forty-six inmates and their families were able to fish, ride bikes, run around, play games, make t-shirts, and eat s’mores. The pond was brought in with the help of staff and was run by volunteers from Destiny Riders of Tacoma, a chapter of the Christian Motorcycle Association.

Allowing families to build supportive relationships helps the department’s mission of increasing public safety by returning individuals to a stronger family unit and cuts down on returns to prison.
